Hello,
New user to this forum. I have been using Webroot for a long time starting with the original Anti-Virus. Went to the cloud based software when it came available, just recently up-dated my subscription. For the past year or so the scan of my main computer, desktop, has gotten slower and slower. My last scan this morning took 9 hours. Any idea why it is taking so long? The scans on our laptops only take about 5 minutes. One bit of information, my desktop is several years old and is running Windows XP. I will be going to Windows 7 probably in January but don't know if that has anything to do with the slow scans or not.
Thanks,
Richard S.

Hello and Welcome to the Webroot Community!
This does not sound at all normal for a Default Deep Scan so:
Can you please do a clean reinstall of WSA and Please follow the steps closely!
Thanks,
Daniel 😉

- Make sure you have a copy of your Keycode
- KEEP the computer online for Uninstall and Reinstall to make sure it works correctly
- Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Subscription PC users click HERE)
- Uninstall WSA and Reboot
- Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode and don't import any settings as you can set it up as you like once it's done
- Let it finish it's install scan
- Reboot once again
Thanks,
Daniel 😉
Thanks Daniel,
I un-installed, rebooted, installed with the new installer. When it got to it's initial scan it went through all the set up steps in about 10 minutes and showed the scan at 91%. Then it started what I think said "performing centralized analysis". It took almost 10 hours to complete that part of the scan. I went ahead and rebooted. The first "deep scan" started at 4pm this afternoon and was at 37% 1 hour and 45 min. later. This is an older Acer computer that is running Windows XP with a AMD Athlon 64x2 processor. It came with windows Vista on it but we ended up putting XP Professional on it because Vista used so much memory. When we first went to the "cloud based" Webroot the scans only took about 5 minutes. May be time to up-grade. 🙂

Hello Richard,
That stills doesn't sound right are you sure it's connected to the Internet during this time? Also can you Submit a Support Ticket so they can look into this like I said it's odd even for an older system to take more than 4 to 5 minutes as mine scans in 35 to 40 seconds 4 year old system.
Thanks,
Daniel 😉

Thanks Daniel,
I submitted a support ticket and will see what they suggest.
