In the 2013/2012 version I could fine tune the Heuristic detection by the sliders, is that now gone? Are all the sliders now set to maximum? How do I achieve the equivalent of all sliders to the right in every detection tab? (offline, online, cd etc)?

Advance Settings and the sliders are now gone. Have a look at the 2014 Online HelpFile: http://www.webroot.com/En_US/SecureAnywhere/PC/WSA_PC_Help.htm#OpeningPage.htm

Can you provide more details in regards of the Infrared?
Something that's more details then provided in the dummy explantion provided in the help file but not detailed enough to provide any exploitation.
Basically I like to know what is being done and roughly "how" but not detailed how since you don't want "them" to know how to bypass it but enough to enlighten an knowledgable user.

It's a new technology and we haven't received the Details at this point but maybe someone from the Webroot Staff can give us more info! Also have a look and listen to what Joe says: http://www.webroot.com/us/en/support/ui-feature-updates

This is from the press release:
Webroot Infrared Provides Advanced Detection of Zero-Day Malware
Webroot has introduced a powerful new threat detection engine called Infrared. Utilizing data from the Webroot Intelligence Network (WIN) cloud security service, Webroot Infrared analyzes unknown files by correlating their behavior and origin, and then makes an assessment of the associated risk before the file is allowed to run. The Webroot Infrared engine also customizes protection to the individual device based on a combined analysis of the operating system, applications, and prior threats which have been observed.
