APD infected my laptop.  I have used 4 different services to kill it and most of it is gone, but not all.  It still has control of key features of Windows 8.1.  I think it came in through an infected Open Office download.  How do I get rid of all of it?  I have used Slow-PC Finder, then AVG 2015 Anti-spyware, updated McAfee (which was originally installed as a trial version that expired - I know I should not have let it expire), then Malwarebytes premium and finally Webroot.  Does anyone know what to do to take back control of Windows and rid the laptop of all the rest of the malware?

Hello and Welcome to the Community Forum,

Sorry to hear you are having these issues with your laptop!

I can't seem to find the APD infection you are talking about. Have you scanned with Webroot? Have you tried going into Safe Mode With Networking by hitting F8 on your keyboard and doing a Webroot scan from there?

Thanks for your help!  The process you sent me worked, once I finally decided to delete the Open Office that I am pretty sure brought in the initial malware.  THANKS!!!! appwiz.cpl really did the job!
