Machine:Surface Pro 3 i7, Win 8.1 pro
Browser:Chrome Version 44.0.2403.157 m
Any click on a web page causes a new tab to open dire - redirecting the browser to an unwanted advert site. Sometimes up to 4 are opened before I can close them and carry on where I left off.
I use adwcleaner to detect and delete the offending files - I have the latest log file.
For a while after rebooting the redirection stops but inevitably the problem returns. Google clearly doesn't give a **bleep**.
I'm looking for a solution because it's very annoying and a big waste of time.
Webroot and all the other major AV systems don't detect this activity - a serious situation in my view.
So I need to find out how I can ensure that the offending files can be successfully blocked by creating a filter - I have tried but I find the labyrinthine instructions difficult to follow.
Here below is one of the deleted file names:-
"File Deleted : C:UsersDaveAppDataLocalGoogleChromeUser DataDefaultLocal Storagehxxps_static.selectgo00.selectgo.net_0.localstorage"
Any help welcome.....
