I get scam emails from my own email address.  How do I get rid of them?

Hi bkorstad

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Unfortunately, there’s almost nothing you can do. This is unfortuantely spam, pure and simple. Abusing or spoofing (as it is known) your email address is only one of many techniques these miscreants use to get their garbage into your inbox.

EDIT: I might add that the mere fact that you are seeing your own email address used as the From: should not be a cause for alarm or concern. Annoyance, Yes...but alarm or concern, No. This is because most likely you, like millions of others, are most likely already on the spammer’s lists to get spam, and they are most probably using the very same list, or a subset of it, as the basis on which to select which addresses to use when carrying out the spoofing. As I said earlier, unfortunately, there is no effective way to stop them.

Regards, Baldrick
