Hi camkelly

Welcome to the Community Forums.

This is a oft raised question and the basic answer, irrespective of which driver updater software you might be recommended to use, is "if it ain't broke then don't mess with it"...so unless you are having issues with your system that have been specifically identified as being driver related then do not play/mess with your driver setup...it is a sure way of getting into real trouble and hours of wasted time tryingto put things right.

If however you are sure that you have a driver-related issue then...you may want to use a driver updater utility...so on to Driver Assist.  If this is Driver Assist from SafeBytes...then proceed with caution.

It is a driver update utility, which is promoted via/bundled with other free downloads, and once installed it will scan your computer for drivers that might need an update. So far what is the issue? Well, if you try to fix these issues, Driver Assist will advise (unsurprisingly some might say) that you need to buy the full version before being able to do so.

However, it is not a malicious program, but whether it is any good at what it purports to do is a moot point...not to be discussed here.

Personally I would say that you would be better off, nay would recommeded, that you manually check for newer version of drivers directly on the hardware manufacturer page. Especially if you know which driver there is an issue with (as mentioned earlier in the post).

Hope that helps?
