Hi RCut

If you have tried to uninstall and are having no success please take a look at the information provided in this KB Article. Don't worry about the title...it include information as to how to run the uninstaller from a Command Line with elevated privileges which should sort you out.

Thanks for your quick reply...

I acutally saw your answer elsewhere and tried it to no avail...

What happens is this:

I go to the DOS command prompt, type     "C:Program FilesWebrootWRSA.exe" –uninstall
it asks if i'm sure i say yes, SecureANywhere gives me something to type in for security.  I type it in and wait.

In a few seconds User Account Control asks for permission to proceed and i allow.

Then, after a few moments it says "Webroot SecureAnywhere has stopped working...windows will close the program..."

What should i try next?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Rcut

Are you running the DOS prompt with Admin rights/as an elevated command? If not then that may be your issue.

To do that type in 'cmd (without quotes) is the Start Menu search bar, and then right click on the cmd icon that should be offered as a search result, selecting 'Run as Administrator' from the context menu displayed.

If running Win10 you can right click the Start button and select 'Command Prompt (Admin)' from the context menu displayed.

In either case that should open a command prompt into which you can then copy/paste the command line and then press enter.

That should work but if it does not then post back.

on my computer, when i click start i see "Run" as one option (i used this to type in 'cmd' to get to MSDOS prompt) and Search as another option. When i go to search, i'm given the option of "for files and folders" or "people". if i choose the former and type in cmd it finds only cmd.py. Remember, i have Vista. i'm already logged in as the administrator.
