I have Windows 10 on my laptop, and Webroot keeps quarentining a file called cservice.exe.  I'd like to know what this file does, or if I can just delete it?

Hi judycombs1117

Welcome to the Community Forums.

From what I have been able to glean from some quick research there are a number of possible answers; cservice.exe is/can be a CSERVICE belonging to InterSystems Cache from InterSystems Corporation Non-system processes like cservice.exe originate from software you installed on your system.

However, and more recently, I have found reference to cservice.exe with the file size 84.48K and the MD5 fffee0f36c519fa973cf697a65b22371 being considered a malware file.

So given the above I would not dispute WSA's findings and I would Open a Support Ticket to ask the Support Team to check if the file quarantined is 'safe', i.e., its detection is a false positive or if it is indeed malware. The service is free to WSA users with an active subscription.

Please do let us know what they come back with...feedback is very useful to us.
