Hello freyaelizabeth,

Welcome to the Webroot Community,

Sounds like you don't have McAfee uninstalled completely. Usually Windows updates will install drivers if needed. Who claims that you need 15 drivers? You can go to Dell.Com and look up your model of your Dell and they should have the drivers there listed under Support. Are you trying to upgrade to Windows 10? What OS are you running?

I have never heard of having to install an AV in order to install  ugraded drivers? Sounds very odd to me.

Please look at this Thread for information about how to remove McAfee https://community.webroot.com/t5/Introduce-yourself-to-the/How-do-I-remove-McAffee-security-software-It-will-not-uninstall/m-p/191328/highlight/true#M4989

Hi freyaelizabeth

Welcome to the Community Forums.

If I may just add to what Sherry has posted...this may well be normal behaviour for Dell products. I run a Dell tablet and I have had instances when the Dell Support software that comes with the harware decides that it has to update drivers. Personally I used to go through the update process but now, if there is nothing wroing with the hardware, i.e., everything seems to be working normally I tend to decline the update on the basis that "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Would be interesting to know who or what is behind this apparent need to update drivers and specifically which drivers are in such need. ;)

Regards, Baldrick
