Document file destroyed

Webroot wiped out my entire document file on my Mac during a regular scan.  Why would it do that?  Is there anyway to get my docs back?

Hello woodcolumbus,

Welcome to the Community Forum,

Can you explain what folder you are concerned about? I don't believe Webroot would just wipe out a folder. Can you look in the Webroot Quarantine and see if files/folder is in there? Also have you checked the trash by chance and see if it wasn't accidently put in there? Perhaps the folder has been moved? Would you check the Finder as well?

To view and manage items in quarantine:
 1. Open the SecureAnywhere interface (click the Webroot icon  in the menu bar, then select Open Webroot SecureAnywhere from the drop-down menu).
 2. From the main window, click Mac Security.
 3. From the Mac Security window, click the Quarantine tab.
 4. On the bottom right, you will see the options Delete Permanently and Restore.
 5. To delete or restore items:
6. If you want to remove the item permanently, click Permanently Delete. Be aware that after erasing it, you can never restore the item.
 7. If you want to move the item back to its original location, click Restore. When an item is restored, SecureAnywhere will no longer detect it during scans. If you want the item to be detected again in the future, you can change its detection rules. For more information, see Managing file detection.
If you cannot find them there then you can submit a Support Ticket and they will investigate this issue. This is free of charge with an active subscription.

Please keep in touch and let us knwo if this was resolved or not. Thanks!

Kind Regards,

it is highly unlikely that this was done by webroot.  The mac client doesnt have anything in it that would cause this to happen unless the files you are missing are indeed bad.  In which case you can restore from quarentine.
