Each time a scan is done on my computer it always comes up with 42 Threats removed.....out of 88

That number that you are talking about is the total number of threats that have been removed by Webroot in total since its installed and NOT the number that has been removed in that scan.
 
You can reset that number by running the following process:
 
1) Open the Webroot program
2) Click on the cog icon to the right of Utilities
3) Click on the "Reports" Tab at the top
4) Click on the "View Statistics" button
5) Click on the "Reset" button
 
Can you try this and then run another scan please.
