Edge is locked by suspicious looking "Microsoft technician" with phone number. What now?

THIS IS A SCAM!!  Neither Microsoft nor any other company sends emails, pop ups, or phone calls of any kind advising that you may have a problem.
 
If you clicked on any links, allowed them to remote into your computer, or went to any websites please Submit a Support Ticket ASAP.  (Now would be a good idea....)

Microsoft never issues this type of warning or email or anything of a sort!  Please see the following link for Microsoft's official word on this:

"Neither Microsoft nor our partners make unsolicited phone calls (also known as cold calls) to charge you for computer security or software fixes.
 
Cybercriminals often use publicly available phone directories so they might know your name and other personal information when they call you. They might even guess what operating system you're using.
 
Once they've gained your trust, they might ask for your user name and password or ask you to go to a website to install software that will let them access your computer to fix it. Once you do this, your computer and your personal information is vulnerable."

I believe there is, Daniel. A few members have reported adding AdBlock to Edge with no problems.

AdBlock Plus is avaialble for Edge and can be downloaded from the Microsoft Store directly accessible from the Settings > Extension > Get extensions from store link.
 
I have it installed and it works fine as far as I can tell.

WOW!!!  Great response time - - thank you.  I am aware of this type of scam and even sent out a major write up to my friends two days ago about it.  Two hours later my wife (on Facebook - - boooo) gets one herself.  I have definitely not contacted that number or let anyone on her computer.  I have searched both here and MS for ideas and am blank.  I will definitely follow up on your suggested freeware Add blocker once I have cleaned this thing up.  Thank you.
 
Are you telling me to fill out this Support Ticket to get information on how to clean up her computer or will ideas be posted here
on the forum?  I need to help her get back online to do bookwork.  Thanks for your help.  Hopefully Webroot will figure this out quickly and get an update out to us.
