The Webroot renewal ritual has started again!

My current subscription is set to expire in 90 days, so today I get a friendly email from Webroot reminding me of that fact.
This reminder is ok with me except that based on my last renewal experience I know that there will be many many more "friendly reminders" coming from Webroot. Then a few weeks before the actual expiration date the Webroot taskbar icon will change color to let me know of the impending doom with lots of pop-ups.

Is this all really necessary? Just like the last time, I already have a replacement license for Webroot but will wait until a few days before expiration to activate it.

I love Webroot but this renewal ritual is very annoying! I do know that if I contact Webroot support they will be able to merge the new with the old now. But why should I have to do that? I paid for a full year of protection so let me experience it without the nuisance of constant reminders that start 90 days before the actual expiration date!:@

End of rant.

Hi DAF

I can understand where you are coming from but I believe that Webroot is very much catering for the inexperienced users rather than the seasoned user like yourself.

Not much that I can suggest in relation to this as I am sure that you have made representation to Webroot previously re. this. Perhaps a check in the deatures exchange to see if anyone has already suggested a change in features to deal with this and if not then perhaps you could suggest how you would like the process handled.

Perhaps have an option that allows the user to determine how many days prior to expiry the system should start warning about it, etc.

Just a thought and perhaps a way so that you do not have to rant again this time next year...;)

Regards, Baldrick

Hello DAF, welcome back!

I am sorry that I cannot turn off the reminders outright.  The way they behave is a decision made by Webroot, and most of us here are volunteers.  I would invite you to create an Idea/Teature Requst for feedback and consideration as was suggested above by ?

What you CAN do, in additiona to a Feature Request, about getting the reminders turned off quickly is to simply have the subscriiption term for the new key code added to the existing license, if the old and new key codes are for the same version of WSA (Antivirus, Internet Security Plus, Complete)

Please submit a Trouble Ticket to have Webroot Support take a look and see if the two key codes can be merged and resolve everything quickly and easily.

I hope this helps,

nic

Thanks for the feedback on the situation.  Typically we remind people so that they aren't surprised when their auto-renewal happens, but I do understand that in your case you'd rather not receive any emails at all.  I'll pass that long to the folks here and see if we could possibly add an option to turn them off altogether for the more experienced users.
