Firefox error after install

I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox as it was running slowly. After install it gave the error- your connection is not secure- for Google and other search engines. Other websites and other browsers worked fine.

I tried suggestions given on Google that didn't work. The most common suggestion was that the antivirus was scanning https connections and should be turned off. I didn't see this option with Webroot Secure Anywhere.

I eventually restored Firefox from a Shadowprotect backup and it works perfectly with no changes to webroot. Any ideas why Firefox gave this error after install?

Hi Larry,

Welcome to the Webroot Community.

I use Firefox and have never seen this issue, however, I did find some info on the subject from Mozilla HERE.

Hope this info helps,

That's the page I was following and nothing worked. It's weird that it only happened after uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox. Firefox worked perfectly when restored from a backup.

Hi Larry,

I just had to reinstall Firefox about a month ago and, thankfully, didn't run into any issues. Hopefully it was just some sort of glitch in the installation. Glad to hear that you had a backup and that it works ok for you now.
