I would like to know how to configure Webroot Anti-virus for Google Chrome. After installation of Webroot anti-virus Google Chrome fails to load and I recieve an error message stating:

Page Unresponsive - "The following page has become unresponsive. You can wait for it to become responsive or kill it."

The page displayed is Untitled.

Instructions located here: https://detail.webrootanywhere.com/agenthelp.asp?n=Using_the_SecureAnywhere_interface
show a different Overview panel than what I see when I click on "view status"

This screen capture below is what I see when I click "view status"

Can someone tell me how to configure from here?

Thank you

Hi kevinrut

Welcome to the Community Forums.

We have been advised by the Webroot Community staff that a lot of people are getting the filtering extension on Chrome slowing things down message, where it can take 30 seconds to resolve.

The good news is that this is currently being investigated by the Webroot Escalations Team, and the advice is that you each Open a Support Ticket ASAP.  In that way the Escalations Team can make sure they have an accurate count of how many people are being affected, so they can set the priority appropriately for getting this fixed ASAP.

Also you appear to have an old link to the online help text...you should find the equivalent page to the one you are referring to here showing the current inteerface.

Thanks for your patience in this matter.

Regards, Baldrick

Hi kevinrut

I have been reminded that a new version of the Webroot Filtering extension was release a few days ago; 1.2.0.14, and apparently since then there have been very few if any reports of the previously reported slowness. I therefore think that it would be a good idea for you to check under the Chrome extensions to see if you have the latest version installed (right click on the icon with 3 horizontal lines...in the top lefthand side of the webpage, and from the context menu select 'More Tools' and then 'Extensions'. In the new tab/page that is opened look down the list of extension for one call 'Webroot Filtering Extension' and to the right of the title yo shouild see the version no. If it is not showing as 1.2.0.14 I would recommend an uninstall/clean reinstall to try to get it to update. If you need to do this please follow these instructions:
  • Make sure you have a copy of your Keycode
  • KEEP the computer online for Uninstall and Reinstall to make sure it works correctly
  • Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Subscription PC users click HERE)
  • Uninstall WSA and Reboot
  • Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode, and do not import any settings if so offered, as you can set it up as you like once it's done
  • Let it finish it's install scan
  • Reboot once again
Then check the speed of Chrome or follow the instructions above to get to the Chrome Extensions page and check the Webroot Filtering Extension version no. Apologies for the long reply; hopefully something in the above will assist, and also for not remembering the change of version no. of the extension (my thansk to ? for reminding me ;)). Regards, Baldrick   I THINK the new .14 extension version seems to fix the problem, and it did go live a few days ago.  You might follow up with that thread to make sure he has .14 installed? Since it went live I have not seen any posts with Chrome slowness... I almost think a clean re-install might help?
