Hi, I'm not able to download attachments from my Hotmail email account. I called and spoke to a micosoft IT support and they logged into my computer and said that I have a virus that caused me to lose a microsoft that is causing my attachment to not open. Do you provide assitance to fix this issue? I  renewed my webroot a few days ago.It never expired.  Im frustrated as thats why I was paying for webroot to protect me.

Hello GeorgeGordon

Welcome to the Webroot Community,

Just to let you know that WSA does not scan emails but if you click on the link and it's a Phishing site then the Web Filter will block it and if a Zip attachment is opened and if there is malware inside WSA will scan the file with it's realtime scanner and if it's bad it will let you know to remove it!

Please Submit a Support Ticket and they will gladly have a look for you. This is free of charge with an active Webroot suscription.

Hope this info helps?

?
when you open such a mail with an attachment do you see the paperclip ( look at image below )

I sent a mail to my own outlook aka hotmail account and this is what i see. Either you click on the attachment shown or on the option below ( download as zip ).

You called Microsoft IT support? that sounds a bit odd. If they state you have a virus then did they give you any details?
Where did you get this contact number from the so-called microsoft support.
