Hi,

First time to the community.  Thanks in advance for any help provided.

I am surprised that webroot has only recently notified me that this is a problem as I have been going to the same homepage when I use Firefox for quite a while.  However, Outfox Tv has popped up along with the site I was interested in w/o any indication that it was a malicious site.

How do I get rid of this annoying 'malware.?  I cannot find it in the list of installed programs.

Bill

Hello ?,

 Welcome to the Webroot Community!

Outfox.TV got on your computer after you have installed a freeware software (video recording/streaming, download-managers or PDF creators) that had bundled into their installation this browser hijacker. This browser hijacker is also bundled within the custom installer on many download sites (examples: CNET, Brothersoft or Softonic), so if you have downloaded a software from these websites, chances are that Outfox.TV was installed during the software setup process. Very often users have no idea where did it come from, so it’s not surprising at all that most of them assume that Outfox.TV is a virus.

What you have is what we call PUA's see here for more instructions: https://community.webroot.com/t5/Techie-KB/How-to-Remove-Potentially-Unwanted-Applications/ta-p/4074... so see if you can remove it yourself and if not please Submit a Support Ticket and they will help you. Also add a good free ad blocker as suggested in the article!

Thanks,
