How do I uninstall the file "Finding Discount"?
I installed the Webroot program a month ago. Then, a few days ago, websites started popping up that I did not want. I figured these were malware programs that got on my computer. I brought up the uninstall program and found a suspicious file. When I tried to download it, it took me to a website that asked if I was sure I wanted to uninstall it...to uninstall, I had to enter letters and numbers...this took me to another website that requested the same, but was unable to uninstall that suspicious program called "Finding Discount". How do I uninstall this file and why didn't my webroot antivirus program catch this virus? Also, when I ran several scans with webroot, it didn't identify this file as a threat. What's happening and why?

From the "Finding Discount" lead that you have provided, an d some quick research I have done, I deduce that you have fallen foul of a non-malware program we commonly refer to as a PUA or Potentially Unwanted Application, as we refer to them in the Community.
As you have found, from what you write, these are very annoying at best in that they cause pop-us, redirect your browser home page, and other behaviour that may slow down the computer and direct ads your way, but they are not actually doing anything bad like damaging files or stealing information. Often they are installed intentionally by you the user as browser add-ons for various tasks such as quick search tools. But they also come with the result of added annoying pop-ups and ads. Other times they 'piggy back' with other software that you installed, or try to 'sneak' onto your system entirely.
In terms of "...why didn't my webroot antivirus program catch this virus" this is not technically a virus and WSA does detect and remove many PUA's, and more are being added, but WSA does not detect all of them.
A simple browser add-on with PUA behaviour that is easy to identify and easy to remove is not likely to be detected and removed by WSA. Those that are intentionally difficult to locate and remove are. Please see this link for more information regarding Webroot's stance on these annoying programs.
In the circumstances the best thing to do is to Open a Support Ticket, and ask Webroot Support to take a look and remove this for you. There is NO CHARGE for this if you are a WSA license holder, with a current subscription.
Finally, for now, we have had a lot of discussion regarding these recently, and one of our gurus@ has posted an Idea for Webroot to consider asking them to increase PUA detection. The more users that need help removing a particular PUA the more likely and faster that PUA will be added to detection.

Thanks Baldrick....good answer. Do you know why my "Uninstall" program on my computer cannot remove this file? Any suggestions how I can remove it?

You are most welcome...can yo advise as to exactly what you mean/are referring to when you say "Uninstall" program? Are you referring to the Add/Remove Programs functionality built into Windows (I am assuming that you are running Windows and not on a Mac or the like)?

I am having exact same issue, by clicking uninstall, takes me to a webpage. After inserting capcha, downloads an executable "FindingDiscountUninstaller"
Opening up throws up all kinds of flags as to NOT run this program, so I haven't, as I fear it will just worsen the problem.
Baldrick, you say to submit a support ticket for this issue, but how can we computer literate folks take care of this ourselves?
