Hello ?.

Welcome to the Webroot Community,

I wouldn't disable the Webroot Filter but all you do is go into whichever  browser you use and go to menu settings, or addons  extensions, and disable from there.

Hope this helps,

Kind Regards

Hi SJSU_alumni

Welcome to the Community Forums.

You should be able to disable the Webroot Filtering Extension, if you so wish, by going to the Addons / Extension Manager for the browser or browsers that you use, locating the extension and unchecking the 'Enabled' check box or clicking on the 'Disable' option next to the extension.

EDIT: From a certain version of WSA you will be able to disable the extension from within the 'Advanced Settings' but I do not believe that this version is in the release channel at present.

Of course, I would not advise doing that as the option is very useful in terms of knowing which websites are safe and which are potentially dangerous to visit.

Regards, Baldrick

OK, is that IE11 or are you refering to the new Microsoft browser that came out with Windows 10, called Edge?

OK, can you click on 'Advanced Settings' in the top right hand corner of the main WSA app panel, and in the list of tabs down the right hand side do you see 'Firewall / Web Shield'?  If so then click on that tab and then in the next panel displayed uncjeck 'Activate browser extensions'.

If you can do that then close IE11 and then reopen it and you should find that the Webroot Filteing Extension is no longer listed under Addons and so is deactivated.

But the above does depend on what version of WSA you are running.
