Is there a setting I need to change in order to be able to attach a pdf or.jpg document to an e-mail?

I am not able to attach documents to my e-mail since I installed Webroot.

I am not aware of any such setting in WSA. Have you tried disabling WSA temporarily to see if the ability to attach comes back? To try this right click on the Notification tray icon for WSA (W in a Green circle) and the select 'Shut down protection', enter the CAPTCHA characters required and then click 'OK'.
Then try the attachment process. Eitherway after you have tried this re-enable WSA's protection by clicking on the WSA desktop icon, and then post back here withthe results.
