I have used Webroot for several years.  I always purchase a new prgram when the old expires.

I purchaed a new CD for 2 year protection this time.

I uninstalled the old.  But there is still program files that won't uninstall no matter how many times I try.

I have inserted the new CD and the old protection keeps coming up and saying it is expired.

There is no "install" option.  Just run.

I am NOT computer savvy so I have no clue what else to do.  I've done all that I know.

Can anyone speak non computer and help?  I've contacted Webroot and no one is responding.  Thanks.

Hello there, welcome to the Community!

I am sorry things have seemed complicated, but I promise we will get this sorted out quickly and easily for you.  You do NOT have to install the software from the new CD.  That is one of the best things about Webroot is that we ALL get any updates and changes automatically as soon as they are released, so you already have the current version on your computer.

I know you said you uninstalled, but since the previous install is still coming up and saying it is expired, you should be ready to go.

Open the WSA program.  You can do this by either double clicking the WSA icon by the clock, OR by right clicking the icon and selecting View Status.
Click the 'gear tool' next to My Account
Enter the new key code into the space provided
Click Activate

That should get it activated with the new key code.  Let us know if you run into problems or have any questions,

Thank you.  I did click the gear and added the new keycode.  It says its activated.  I have the disc in the drive and there is no shortcut on the desktop.  Will that show up eventually or at all?

Thanks for the welcome and I truly appreciate your help.  Colette

To get the short cut back on the desk top:

Open WSA
Click the Advanced Settings at the upper right corner
Look at the options available.  You should be abel to add a check mark to allow the icon to show on the desktop, among other settings.
Save the changes.

Let us know if this helps 🙂
