Can I renew my existing webroot from best buy- but going direct to webroot.com is about $20 cheaper.  Can I renew directly with webroot site and not go thru best buy

Hello there!

You cannot do a 'direct renewal' via Webroot.  Best Buy owns and supports the version you have, so you must renew through them.

What you CAN do is make a new purchase through Webroot and allow the Best Buy subscription to expire.  A few things to be careful of here though:

1) The Best Buy version is for a 3 user license.  I suspect that the copy you can purchase for $20 less would be a ONE user license.  If I am correct in this, please note that you will no longer have some features available to you such as the Password Manager.  Make sure you go over all of the features you currently have, and what features you will be getting with the purchase you are considering.  The features you lose might very well be items you are not using anyway, in which case no problem.

2) If you do purchase directly through Webroot, make sure that your credit card number is NOT on file at Best Buy, or that you contact them to cancel the subscirption.  They do automatic billing, so if you have renewed with them before, it will automatically bill your credit card.

If you do decide to purchase directly from Webroot instead of renewing through Best Buy, there are a couple of fairly easy things that must be done to change the version on your computer, so let us know.. we will be happy to help guide you through it!
