Installing another malware protection device. Would this help support Webroot or might not be a good idea? Sam

Hi jacwins,

Welcome to the Webroot Community.

It really depends on the individual user. While Webroot is designed to operate with other AV software, Webroot is more than capable of protecting you on it's own. You will not be any less safe by uninstalling the other AV. Webroot works differently than other AV's, consumes very little resources, and is always up to date. Personally, I would uninstall the other AV just to free up resources on your computer, which will help it to operate more efficiently.

Hope this info helps, :)

Thanks. I failed to mention, the other service is Malwarebytes? I hope your advice would be the same. And thanks again. Sam

You're welcome. And yes, my advice would be the same.:)

I do recommend a good Ad Blocker, though. This will protect you from Internet pop-ups, which technically aren't malware, but may deceive some users into thinking that their systems have been compromised.

These are some that we here in the Community Recommend:

For Internet Explorer Ad Block Plus: https://adblockplus.org/

For Firefox uBlock Origin: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/?src=ss or Privacy Badger: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/privacy-badger-firefox/

Google Chrome uBlock Origin: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ublock-origin/cjpalhdlnbpafiamejdnhcphjbkeiagm?hl=en or Privacy Badger: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/privacy-badger/pkehgijcmpdhfbdbbnkijodmdjhbjlgp

Thanks and have a good day. :)
