I keep getting alerted that my computer may not be portected

THIS SOUNDS LIKE A SCAM!!  Neither Microsoft nor any other company sends emails, pop ups, or phone calls of any kind advising that you may have a problem.
 
If you clicked anything links, allowed them to remote into your computer, or went to any web sites please submit a Trouble Ticket ASAP.  (Now would be a good idea....)

Microsoft never issues this type of warning or email or anything of a sort!  Please see the following link for Microsofts official word on this:

Welcome to the Community Forums.
 
I am not convinced it is a scam per se but I am suspectingt hat you may be the victim of adware or a PUA (Potentially Unwanted Application) that may have gotten onto your system.
 
Would you be able to provide the actual text of the messages that popup and if there is any indication of their provence, i.e., a phone no. to call or a website /email address to contact?  That may helps ups to provide further information/advice.
 
ALso, what exactly are you trying a nnumber of times with no success?  To respond to the popup?  Well, if so then please do not as this may indicate to the perpetrators of this activity that they have been successful.
