Inadvertently blocked program update
I inadvertently blocked AVG; how do i tell webroot to allow updates to AVG?

From what you are saying it sounds like you took the wrong option in respœnse to the WSA Firewall request for the AVG updates?
If that is the case then how you proceed depends on what OS you are running.
If Windows 8 or above you will need to uninstall WSA and then do a CLEAN reinstall (can provide instructions as to how to do this).
If Windows 7 or earlier then what you need to do is click on the gear/cog symbol to the right of the 'PC Security' in the main app panel. Then select the 'Scan &Shields' tab, and on that click on the 'View Active Connections' in the bottom righthand corner of the panel. On the next panel displayed check down the list of files under the Processes section, for the AVG component erroneously blocked, and when ylu find it change the option to the right of the line form 'Block' to 'Allow'...and that should resolve the issue for you.
