Trying to avoid a WRkrn.sys PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA BSOD, on my next install. My guess is, a workaround would be, if I could install just the program, *precluding the initial scan*, then reboot. IOW I suspect that a reboot prior to the initial scan will avoid the BSOD.
Is there an install parameter, or escape procedure to avoid the initial scan, during installation?

Webroot needs to scan when installing. Not sure what troubles you are having with the BSOD. Have you tried installing Webroot in Safe Mode with Networking? Webroot will install in safe mode.
I am not familiar with any installing parameters.
There could possibly be remnants of the old product on your machine. Can you please Open a Support Ticket free of charge.

Webroot 'wants' to do an 'initial scan' when installing, but doesn't 'need' to.
If the scan attempt is thwarted or incomplete (you get a BSOD for instance),
the next time Webroot is run (eg after a reboot) it will try to run an 'initial
scan'.
Summing up: Webroot, the program, installed completely. Webroot's installation
program, crashed, approx 1/4 way through the initial scan. After a reboot, the
'initial scan' ran without problem. I have run 29 scans since, with no problem.

I checked with CCleaner before running Webroot install, and didn't see any
remnants. I do have Malwarebytes Anti-Malware installed, for the occasional,
second opinion (manual) scan, but I wouldn't expect it, to be the problem.
This Webroot install was on a (very stable.. only had one BSOD; five
years ago.. no malware has ever been detected.. etc) test system . I have
been evaluating Webroot on it, for approx two weeks, and, apart from the BSOD
have been *very satisfied* with it's performance 🙂 Now I'd like to install
on my (virtually identical) working system, but wanted to minimize, the
risk of a BSOD.
