It could be a few things. First of course is simply are you positive you entered your email address correctly, and second did you check the SPAM folder of your email just in case it went in there?
OK, the easy reply being done, it is also possible there is just a slowdown in the Console at the moment. Normally things go pretty quick, but sometimes there is a 15 to 20 minute delay on Console changes taking affect. I changed my password a little while ago and it took around 30 minutes for that change to be reflected in my Backup&Sync sign in.
Give it another 15 minutes, check the spam folder, and see if you have received it.
Let us know what happens!

I think the install on the computer is actually complete. What I think is going on here is that following the initial install, a notice to register the Console account was given. The initial Console registration will send an email confirmation, which would appear to be rather delayed.
