Hello ?,

Welcome to the Webroot Community,

Can you tell me where this popup was? In your browser?

From my resaech I have found  that  Syswow64 is a fake program promoted through web sites that show advertisements that pretend to be online anti-malware scanners.Syswow64 may hijack, redirect and modify your web browser. Syswow64 can change desktop background, display and allow hacker to get unauthorized remote access to the infected computer. Syswow64 destructive behavior may cause severe harm to your security and privacy. Your computer may run slow and really weird for it is in high risk. Syswow64 poses a dangerous threat to any computer or system and should be terminated immediately.

Hi elvLaStrappe-4

Welcome to the Community Forums.

If I may just add to or precise re. what Sherry has advised...C:WindowsSysWOw64dllhost.exe is a program which will have arrived on your computer preinstalled. However, to complicate matters in connection with your enquiry there is also a virus / trojan that uses this same name or perhaps it is better stated as it masquerades as the legitimate file.

The SysWOw64 virus is also known as dllhost.exe *32 COM Surrogate, is a process used to host one or more operating system services.

Given all of this it is very much advised that you taker the Support Ticket route and get the professionals to investigate and either deal with the issue or reassure you that your system is not compromised.
