Is there any test showing the Webroot Data recovery/reversal of a crypto infection?
Or is Webroot inadequate protection for that type of an infection?

WSA does provides excellent protection against ransomware, mainly due to its monitoring/journalling of unknown or undetermined processes/files...but you should remamber that new variants are constantly being released in an attempt to stay ahead of anti malware applicaitons like WSA.
