I have WSA installed on several computers. I have seen this behavior on all of them and am unable to find out what is causing it.
All machines have some flavor of Windows 7. Very shortly after booting the machine and usually while I have the browser open, I see a small command window open and close. Just after that I see another larger command window open and usually this one is densely packed with information. But it closes much quicker that I can read.
I have searched the Windows log files in an attempt to pin down which application is causing this but can find nothing., I can find no logs on my harddrive which are created around the time of the events on any computer.I would appreciate any assistance in this matter.
I have run scans with Webroot as well as Malware Bytes and a couple creadable online virus and rootkit finders.
Is Webroot responsible for the command windows that open and close while leaving no logs?
+6? next time you reboot be ready to hit Prnt Scrn ( Print Screen ) on your keyboard the moment the dense packed screen pops up.. I strongly doubt it's Webroot related... If you are fast enough to hit the Print Screen button then after the screen dissapears you can paste the screen capture in something like MSPaint and then save it. Gives you more time to see what's in that dense packed screen and eventually share it with the community. One never knows but i've not seen this behavior yet. Did you already have a deep scan run?
This activity occurs very quickly. There is no way to predict when it will occur next. It doesn't happen every time I reboot but I'll try to be quick enough. I have run every scan I can think of. It does happen on all 3 computers whih WSA is located.
+6And have you by accident already tried to uninstall Secure Anywhere, reboot and wait a bit to see if it happens without it? And then off course immediately re-install it. Well if you can't find the cause perhaps you should open a support ticket and have a good chat with support.
