macos script malware

Let me ping ​@JDeBerry to get a correct answer on this question on a Mac Computer.

​@LTH651  What type of scripts are we talking about, specifically? Are these scripts being downloaded to and running on the system, are these scripts embedded into the webpage, or are the scripts running on a web server? If you can point me to their location that would be a great help. 

It sounds like you’re talking about malicious scripts embedded into websites or running from web servers - in which case I might want to clarify a few things with our engineering team before I provide my response.

These are scripts that are part of malware files on the web-site Objective-See.com. See Mac.c malware file, stealer script. I’m assuming Webroot doesn’t detect because it can’t be executed without some host file?

​@LTH651  Apologies - I neglected to follow up last week. I’ve reported this to our Product Management and Engineering teams.  We're continuously improving our detection capabilities and are planning enhancements that will further strengthen coverage for these file types.
