Why are manual scans so quick? My old Norton antivirus took hours for a "full scanj".

 Hello ?

Welcome to the Webroot Community.

Webroot is light in resources and scans very fast because it's all done from the cloud. This is normal.

Please have a look here http://www.brightcloud.com/platform/webroot-intelligence-network.php and here https://community.webroot.com/t5/Webroot-SecureAnywhere-Complete/The-difference-between-a-deep-scan-...

Also please look at this Thread https://community.webroot.com/t5/Webroot-SecureAnywhere-Antivirus/Scanning-PC-suspiciously-fast/m-p/...

I hope this info helps, Thanks ? ;)

Have a good evening,

BD

If I may just add, you CAN do a custom Full scan in Webroot that might take around 30 minutes. It is not needed though and not recommended for general use.

There is a KB article here that explains the differences between the standard deep scan and a 'full' scan.

Also if you go into "Community Forums" and do a search on "full scan", you will find several threads that may be helpful.
