Hi mike427, welcome to the forum...........If you are using Webroot it is unlikely a Virus.............Are we talking a laptop or a PC and which Windows OS are you using?

Try placing the mouse on a plain sheet of paper and try it, sometimes it's just the surface it's on and sometimes it's the bottom of the mouse getting very dirty, and you can clean it with a little alcohol and a cotton swab, or a little warm water squeezed out of a Magic Cloth.

I have a laptop but I use a usb mouse. The old school mouse just works better for me than the mousepad.

I will try a good cleaning and the clean white paper and see what happens.

So far the paper seems to work but the problem was intermittent. I will have to test for a bit to see if it works. Thank you very much.

Good news! If it continues please report back and we can explore some additional avenues.

Hello ?,

Welcome to the community.

I would also advise testing a wired mouse to see if the issue persists. A dying battery in a wireless mouse can cause some odd issues but from all of my time in consumer support, I have never seen the cursor "jiggling" turn out to be a virus. It could also be vibration through your desk.

I hope this helps!

Regards,
