My bank has changed its website and now I cant load their login pages?
I have talked with the bank's IT folks and tried several browser setting changes, nothing has worked. They are convinced it's a Webroot setting. Any ideas which one??
Hello BZim! Welcome to the Webroot Community.
Usually when WSA is causing a page to be blocked, you WLL see a warning page letting you know that it has been blocked, and allowing you to Unblock and Continue or cancel navigation. The page would look like this:
A page orange as above is a caution, if it was in red it would be a more severe warning.
If you are not experiencing these it is not likely WSA is causing the problem, but we can do a few things to make sure.
The first is of course to submit a Trouble Ticket to have Webroot Support take a look.
If you wish to test some things yourself, and are 100% sure that your browser is going ONLY to the site your bank has provided, securely, without any mis-directions (As can happen when connected to a pubic WiFi), then you can try the following.
You can disable WSA protections doing the following, but remember to only do this for a quick test. Make sure you do not go to any web site other than the site that your bank has confirmed is correct, and turn all protections back on as soon as you have tested.
Open your web browser
Go into the Add-ons/Extensions settings
Disable (DO NOT REMOVE) the Web Filter Extension
Right click the WSA icon in the System Tray
Select Shut Down Protection
Again, your computer is now fully at risk, WSA is turned off and not protecting your computer.
Go back to your browser, and navigate to the site provided by your bank.
If navigation fails, the problem is not with WSA.
Now turn protection back on!
Either way you proceed, Trouble Ticket or Self-Test, let us know what you find out. :)
