I usually get impatient and manually shut it down, then it won't come back on despite holding down the ON button.
I've so far been able to get it back on, by opening the disc tray or, holding down the ctrl-alt-del buttons for a really long time.
Any ideas?
My scan removed 27 malware recently however, my computer still freezes.

This could normally be due to a number of things but given that you say this has started happeing after the removal of a number of items of malware (using WSA, I presume?) then the best thing to do is to Open a Support Ticket to let the Support Team know of the issues and hopefully they can investigate it/resolve it for you.
The service is available free of charge to WSA users with an active subscription.
