So I ran into one of the PMs in the hallway and he told me that there's no plans to change the UI this year. Part of the reason is that our UI is coded by hand and not using any standard Windows libraries. That's how we keep our installer so small, since we're not bundling in anything unnecessary. The tradeoff for that is that it makes any changes harder to make and thus we won't be able to do them as frequently.

It might not be the prettiest or flashiest, but it is still a lot better than what it was in the 2013 and previous versions. I can do without glamour and glitz in the UI as long as:
- I can find everthing easily, and the current layout is for the most part quite intuitive. Much better than the 2013 was
- Loads quickly. I have seen other UI's that once you click you have to wait, and wait, and wait..........

I take it you don't like green...generally speaking? WSA is a blend of different greens. I really love the UI personally...and it keeps you safe in so many ways, and that's the main thing.

I happen to agree that performance, speed and security of Webroot indeed is far more important then a GUI. I find the GUI easy to operate and find my way around and Webroot protects us far better then any other AV. I happen to like the way Webroot looks but that's my .02 cents worth too. Under the hood is what counts as Mentioned ..Right?

it's definitely a matter of taste, this is why I won't argue about that, I just wanted to know wether something's in the pipe... This aspect did not prevent me from buying and renewing it 😉 as one of the beta testers for F-Secure and Vipre (2015 rls) I've seen that things can change, can't they ?

+56I do know that the product managers and devs are meeting to flesh out the roadmap for 2015. I haven't heard any talk of what GUI changes are in the pipeline, but I'll let you know when I see the finalized roadmap.

And yes, people have different tastes etc.
I;m sure there are some nice improvements in the pipeline, don't know about GUI (or much at all :D)

+54I prefer our GUI, OK it is not glitsy, not masses of different things to press and play with. BUT there again I love the way it is light unobtrusive, takes up virtually no space and totally unlike a lot of the other space and cpu hogging things out there. I can however see how some people may want a little bit more in the GUI, I think a lot depends on what people are used to though.
