New Windows 10 laptop and the pop-ups are unbearable - makes using the internet a joke.

I bought my daughter a new Windows 10 laptop for school - the pop-ups have made this basically unuseable.  I have tried a couple of 'free' pop-up blockers but they don't sdsem to be free and they don't seem to work.  I have now switched from Norton to Webroot hoping this would find and solve the problem - so far nothing.  We are attempting to use Chrome (which works fine on my laptop with no pop-ups.)  Does anyone have any other ideas?

? welcome to the community. Know that different techniquest excist to create popups. Some can be blocked by ther standard tools in your browser and some not. If you fear you may have caught some PUA ( malware to say it simple ) then why not submit a ticket at Webroot ( assuming you bought WSA directly from WR ).. If you bought it from Bestbuy or any other reseller maybe you ought to contact them directly ( am not familiar with any resellers so if i'm off on this i hope other experts can correct my mistake )

How long did you surf on this laptop before you bought Secure Anywhere? It looks like you collected some critters on your machine.

Hello bhall5624,

Welcome to the Webroot Community,

It would help if you could tell us what kind of popups you are getting..

Please have a look here at PUAs https://community.webroot.com/t5/Techie-KB/How-to-Remove-Potentially-Unwanted-Applications/ta-p/40744

You can add a good free Ad Blocker like the ones suggested below:

For Internet Explorer Ad Block Plus: https://adblockplus.org/

For Firefox uBlock: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/?src=ss or Privacy Badger: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/privacy-badger-firefox/

Google Chrome uBlock: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ublock-origin/cjpalhdlnbpafiamejdnhcphjbkeiagm?hl=en or Privacy Badger: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/privacy-badger/pkehgijcmpdhfbdbbnkijodmdjhbjlgp

I use Ghostery as well...

Hope this helps
