Had notice that there was suspicious activity at my ip address and to call toll free number for certified microsoft tech  to take care of issue.  Was very leery but called and they wanted to take over my computer.  Said no and hung up.  Is this a scam?  Had to shut down computer to get rid of the notice as it would not allow me to just click it out.
Thanks,
GailDee

Ran Web scan and it said no malware.  Do I need to do anything else?

Nope you should be good to go. It was probably a website you visited that popped up an ad that was made to look like a computer warning. As long as you didn't let them connect to your computer, and you didn't give them your credit card information, then you're safe.
