On WIndows 10 :I tried installing Webroot, get an error at ox8000fff

The installation finishes and Webroot will scan my laptop, but as soon as I reboot, I have to restore from a recovery point prior to installation. It seems like Webroot is not yet compatible with WIndows 10, because the icon is all fuzzy too.I had to reboot a few times to install other software, and the same thing happens every single time.  The laptop came with McAfree already installed. I tried disabling that, but it makes no difference. Maybe I should just disable and un-install WebRoot for this laptop?

Hello tamjak, welcome to the Community.

Evidently there has been a few reports of this happening, though not many, as noted in THIS THREAD earlier today.  Please do submit a Trouble Ticket so that Support can take a look and get to the bottom of it for you ASAP.

Thanks!

I got asked by support to reboot so I could take a screen shot of the error message. Do you know how much of pain that would be? I'll have to restore from a different point and re-install dozens of other programs I need to use every day. I gave them the error message address, that should be enough. Why can't they look up with the other customer who reported this in their ticket tracking system?

A screen shot of the error message is not going to show anything different than 0x8000ffff.  It's a registry error with WIndows.
Completely and utterly frustrating.

I will un-install WebRoot because I can't afford the time to rebuild my laptop mutliple times.  WebRoot should be working with MS to resolve this and be able to search their own ticket tracking system to find similar problems and resolutions.

Let me know if you can't get it resolved and we can get support on it again. We definitely want to gather as much info as possible around Windows 10 issues, since it's so new.
