When i tried to log on to computer tonight most of my desktop icons have disappeared and get a message that i cannotaccess computer files now and am being signed in with a temporary profile. Then i get a wierd message about software updates on my new Brother machine. ( i recently purchased a new Brother printer.).  It asked if i wanted to allow something and i said yes--now i am wondering if i was hacked?  Next i got a message that "one drive" is being updated.

I tried rebooting and same thing happens.  When i tried to open Chrome to read my emails, it said that Chrome was no longer my default browser.  When i made it my default browser, got couple of messages about another program on my compueter adding extensions that might now work with Chrom  and did i want to delete the extensions.  I said yes.  But still only have limited access . Help.  I will try to call technical assistance in the morning but i am traveling out of the country in a couple of days and need access to tons of files on my computer.

I have been accessing several  web sites of language schools i want to study at in Guatemala. I wonder if one of them that i accessed earlier tonight was the problem.
Thanks for any guidance you can give me.  I may try to have Webroot scan my computer again but it just did a scan a few hours ago.
