On the "Threats" page (on a Mac) while a scan is running, what does "refresh threats" mean? Does that restore the threat in the computer, I hope not? Does it merely refresh the page display?
"New threats" have been found in the on-going scan, but none are listed on the "threats" page.
"refresh" means what?

I would just run the manual scan again and I would suspect that you will find that this time the scan either comes up clean or you will have items in Quarantine that you need to deal with.
