I thnk I got hacked today.  lost a lot of apps, including my webroot, against my will.  whoever did this to me, put Norton on my computer.   I was in the middle of asking for help with my hp officejet 5610 all in one printer....that was stuck in queue.
I clicked on windows update pop up..thinking it would help.       HELP.   please help me restore webroot, and give Norton a good toss.    Thanks

Hello gaspiper,

Welcome to the Community!

Lets try to uninstall Norton. Can you go to the Control Panel/ Programs /Norton /uninstall? Is it listed under Norton or Symantec?
If you have problems uninstalling Norton let us know. Reboot after uninstalling. Ok?

Can you please do a clean reinstall of WSA and Please follow the steps closely!

  • Make sure you have a copy of your Keycode
  • KEEP the computer online for Uninstall and Reinstall to make sure it works correctly
  • Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Subscription PC users click HERE)
  • Uninstall WSA and Reboot
  • Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode and don't import any settings as you can set it up as you like once it's done
  • Let it finish it's install scan
  • Reboot once again
Please let us know if that resolves your issue?

Thanks,

Hello and Welcome to the Webroot Community!

I'm sorry but that sounds so silly if you think it's true it's best to Submit a Support Ticket right away and they can tell you what's going on! Did you let someone have access to your PC like from a phone call and some fake support person and they had you install some software so they can see what's on your PC?

Thanks,

Daniel 😉
