Clicked on a "Hacked by Makaveli" link. Tried rebooting and got the message "root failed."
Although, I was later able to boot, but what do I do?

I am not sure what to tell you about this "Root Fail." My best advice would be to Submit a Support Ticket and have them take a look to see if anything malicious has happened since clicking on that link. This is a free service with your Webroot subscription.
