Hi Uzekamanzi

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Would you please be a little more specific as to which log file or files you are referring to  as there a a few in use by WSA? If this relates to the Threat and/or Scan logs then I have never come across the issue before.

If a reboot of your system does not yield results then I would suggest that you try an uninstall/clean reinstall to see if that will resolve it. If you would like to the please follow these instructions carefully:

  • Make sure you have a copy of your 20 Character Alphanumeric Keycode! Example:SA69-AAAA-A783-DE78-XXXX
  • KEEP the computer online for Uninstall and Reinstall to make sure it works correctly
  • Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Subscription PC users click HERE)
  • Uninstall WSA and Reboot
  • Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode and do NOT import any settings if offered by the installer; to as you can set it up as you like once it's done
  • Let it finish it's install scan
  • Reboot once again
Do let us know if that helps and if not then we will try to provide further assistance.

HAve done all that you said and it now works but the whole thing started as a misunderstanding (so often the case with software!!)

I thought that I was specifying that Webroot should always save the log files for scans, threats etc. by ticking the box in the utilities/reports section.

It turns out that by clicking the relevant box, you are only saving a specific log file. That was why the system was "hanging" - I failed to notice that I had to put in a name for the log file - really stupid of me.

Thanks for your help & sorry for wasting your time.
