Should I be concerned?

I am in the free trial period and have 7 days left.  This AM I received a pop up box informing me that it's about to expire.  I also get a "yellow !" instead of a 'green icon'.  I have no problem with this, however......

I open Firefox and things aren't running right.  It often just freezes solid.  I have had to exit out and Firefox says it crashed.  I decided to disable the Webroot Filtering Extension and I'm all good now.

I go the create a Webroot account and use the Keycode that came via e-mail for my copy of Webroot.  I can't create an account.  It never gets past 'Checking Keycode".  I thought, maybe it's because it's not a paid copy yet.  But surely they would tell me that.

I'd hate to assume my issues have to do with 'free trial' and then have issues after I purchase it.  I love the software, but this has me a little concerned.

Contact Webroot support and have them look into this.

Hello yogibear, welcome to the Community!

I am pretty sure that indeed the Online Account system will not allow you to make an account during the three day trial for the WSA-AV version as there really is not much need to do so.  Pretty much all of the functions in the Account Console deal with the additional features that WSA-Internet Security and WSA-Complete offer.

It IS entirely normal to have the yellow warning advising you that the trial is about to expire.  Had you the paid version you would also see the same thing when nearing expiration.  Webroot does indeed want to make sure you are aware of when your protection is going to end so that you are not caught unprotected.

On the Firefox issue, I have not heard of others having a problem.  There are a few things that could be going on: the extension not installing quite right, a conflict with other extensions, etc.  I do use FF with all Webroot extensions turned on with no problems, but at was noted above by my friend ? you might consider submiting a trouble ticket and seeing if Support can give you a hand to resolve this before you commit to the purchase.

I hope this helps!

David,

I appreciate the quick response.  I re-enabled the Firefox extension and everything is fine now.  This little excersise with Webroot was useful however.

Thanks for your time
