My Webroot says everything is clear or good.  I have cleaned up areas I know of but it is still very slow.  What is my problem?

Hello ywolff

Welcome to the Webroot Community Forum,

This could be a variety of reasons why your computer is running slow. Is the bootup slow? Please give us more information as to why your computer is slow? Did you upgrade to Windows 10?

Do you know how to run Msconfig? You can uncheck programs like Adobe, Quickbooks and iTunes, etc from starting up when you boot up.

You may want to run CCleaner . But go directly to there website. Piriform.com
But if you do run this program make sure you create a Windows Restore point.

Cleaning your browser history and cookies will help with your internet if thats becoming slow.

Look here for doing a disk clean up  http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/delete-files-using-disk-cleanup#delete-files-using-disk-c...

Hope this helps?

Hi ywolff

Welcoome to the Community Forums.

If I may add to what Sherry has advised...can you check the Task Manager on your system and more specifically the Processes that are running; what are the top four processes that consume the most (i) Memory & (ii) CPU?

If you need help to find that information please post back. It could be that you have some processes that are running incorrectly or unexpectedly and consuming system resources.
