SSID changed

This is quite a common occurrence. Windows is storing older configurations of your network. When you change the configuration, Windows will add a 1 (then 2, then 3) to your Wi-Fi network name to differentiate them. This can also happen if you use a USB Wi-Fi dongle and you switch USB ports. Your actual SSID, the one in your router, has not changed. Just the name that appears in Windows.
 
Can you please tell me which version of Windows you're running? The procedure for removing old entries is a little different for the various versions.

I was wondering where in Windows 10 you are seeing the SSID with the added number?
 
Is it the name that's in the list that appears when you click the WiFi icon in your system tray (by clock)?
 

 
Or the name you see when you open the Network and Sharing Center?
 

 
 Or is it somewhere else you are seeing this?
 
Sorry for all the questions, it's just that Windows has made it harder to change these names in Windows 10, was much easier in Windows 7. I just want to be sure that I give you the correct instructions. :)
 
Can you also please tell me if you're running Windows 10 Pro or Home?

Maybe for the reason of the .5 as your Router might support 2.4GHz and 5GHz bandwidths as my system shows both and it's best if you can use the 5GHz channel over the 2.4GHz if you can and if your hardware supports it.
 
Theses are my 2 and I connect to from my 2 Laptops, 2 Smart phones, 1 Smart TV and 2 Tablets.
