System Analyzer says I have "a low amount of physical RAM." I have 20 Gigs! What is going on?

In all honesty I would not worry too much about what the System Analyzer is reporting especially in the case of low physical RAM, especially when you say that you have 20 GB. The Analyzer is just a base line tool (to be used in the context of WSA rather than more generally as far as I know), and if you are concerned then I would look into other system analysis utilities to be a more concrete view.
 
If you feel so inclined you could Open a Support Ticket to report it to the Support Team, but other than record the fact and pass it on to the Development Team, I am not sure what they can do.

I must confess, though, that it is not encouraging to have my brand new anti-virus software acting silly so soon. I double checked, and yup--20 gigs working splendidly. 
(They could have done four more seasons easily, don't you think?)

You are most welcome...and in a way I agree with you...but surprisingly we get very little reference to this 'feature'.
 
I am sure that I can say without fear of hesitation that you won't see any other part of WSA acting 'silly'...what you have bought into is the lightest and in my opinion one of the most effective antimalware apps on the market.  I presume that you have seen the below which explains how WSA does this?
 

 
and if that is not enough then, if you also have not already, please take a look at this KB Article which explains how WSA handles unknown threats (in a very unique way).
 
Hopefully all of the ablve will help reassure you that you have made the right choice.
 
And then of course you have access to (and I will do a 'Carlsberg' here ;)) probably the best Support Forums/Community in the world...if you get my drift...:D
