Hi ladybugpots,

Would you mind doing an uninstall/reinstall of Webroot? Usually a reinstall will fix this error.

To uninstall Webroot SecureAnywhere, follow the instructions below.
 1. Shut down SecureAnywhere by clicking the Webroot icon  in the menu bar and selecting Shut Down SecureAnywhere. If prompted, confirm that you want to shut down SecureAnywhere.
 2. Open the Finder by clicking the Finder icon in the dock.
 3. Open the Applications directory.
 4. Click and drag the Webroot SecureAnywhere program icon into the Trash  in the dock. A confirming window appears.  Click Uninstall. Webroot SecureAnywhere is now uninstalled.  There is no need to restart your computer.
Reinstall Webroot

 4. In the first activation window, enter your keycode and click Activate.
If you prefer you can Submit a Support Ticket which is free of charge with your Webroot subscription.

Can you let me know what you have decided to do?

Welcome to the Webroot Community,

Can you tell me if you are running Yosemite or El Capitan? Or macOS Sierra

Would you reboot your system and see if you get the same error?

Hi again ladybugpots,

Also If you upgraded to Sierra, please click here for important information.

This could also be why you are getting this error message from Webroot.

I'd strongly recommend contacting our Support Team about this issue. You normally need to do a Clean uninstall with -sudo commands from the Terminal, if a normal uninstall works it would be a tad surprising. They can sort it out for you real quick with no problems!
