Unblock and Continue not working

I'm still new to this, but Webroot keeps blocking emails from Sears & Kmart where I have made purchases.  Webroots page indicates "get me out of here" which I do not want or  "unblock and continue", but when I click on it, nothing but a blank black page from Webroot remains.  Any ideas?

Hi notsosavvy

Welcome to the Community Forums.

What you are doing is the correct approach, if yo know that the website that is being blocked is safe, etc.

There are a couple of things that you can do to try to resolve this; firstly reboot your system...sometimes I find that this manages to resolve the issue you are describing, i.e., it was caused by a local technical glitch.

Alternatively, you can Open a Support Ticket, to let the Support Team know that there is any issue with the site and then they can investigate and hopefully correct/whitelist it in the Cloud.  YOu could try going to the BrightCloud website and submitting a Change of Reputation request for the URL concerned but in my experiecne this takes more time than contacting the SUpport Team.

Finally, if yo are a little bit technical there is a workaround that I ihave found works but in involves editing text files and hiddedn folders and so would only propose I explain this if you are reasonably comfortable undertaking that sort of tweaking...if so then let me know.

Thanks for your help, though I have restarted my computer and still have the issue with opening any emails from Kmart or Sears.  I have, as you suggested, sent a message to customer support and hopefully get this resolved shortly.....here's hoping!

I have heard of this sort of thing happening before.  What may be happening is that the graphics in the email are being served from a source that also has served a questionable web site in the past and so has been marked as questionable or bad. That would have the effect you are seeing.

Once Support has taken a look, they can probably adjust the filters to fix it.  That is what they did the last time I saw a post of this nature.

Hi notsosavvy

OK, it was worth a shot...just in case for you it worked.

As I said before there is a workaround that you can try and I would be happy to guide you through but it involves hidden folders & editing text files to insert the URLs that you are having trouble with into the local whitelist used by the filter...relatively simple stuff if you feel up to it.  But no pressure...just let me know if you would like to try.

The workaround sound like it's complicated, but I certainly would appreciate your help. Oh and thanks for including a link to Customer Support. That was great!

Hi notsosavvy

No worries and no pressure re. the 'local' workaround...I completely understand the desire to get this sorted out by the 'professionals'. :D

If you change your mind then just let me know...you know where we are/where to go.

Do keep us posted on how things go for you and when Support has sorted this out for you.

Hmmmm....now you have me wondering about "professional" with your smiley face laughing. Maybe I shouldn't, but I was thinking I should give them until ........let's say, Monday to fix it, otherwise, if it's OK with you, I'll contact you again to walk me through the resolve? I'm just not sure what to do

Hi notsosavvy

My apologies if I gave you the wrong impression with my 'smilely face'...it was in no way meant to infer anything about the Webroot Support Team for whom I have nothing but the highest regard...it was more meant to indicate that I was happy with your approach of leaving it to them to sort out for you.

And I recommend that you follow that path as they are 'professionals' and we are just amateurs/volunteers.

Having said that if you do change you midn for whatever reason then please contact me I would be happy to guide you through the workaround if you feel you would like to go down that route.

You have been most helpful.  I have used the link you sent to contact Webroot for Customer Support and they have resolved my issues.  Sadly I am not very savvy, but they sent me a step by step instruction to install and reinstall with an updated version correcting my problem.  I'm a happy girl thanks to your aid and Webroot Support:D
